Video Review of Money$uit 31 Classic

Mike has a conversation with Angela about the game Moneysuit 31 Classic during the 2018 Cutting Edge Table Games Conference. Don't miss my insights on this topic as well. Money$uit 31 , as it also called.

Michael Shackleford: Hello, I'm Michael Shackleford and I"m here at the 2018 Cutting Edge Table Gameshow at the Paris Casino venue in Las Vegas accompanied by my favorite dealer, Angela.

Angela, how are you doing?

[00:00:36] Angela: Better now.

[00:00:37] Michael: It's such a pleasure to see you again, Angela! I always prioritize having you kick off my first video at the show.

[00:00:43] Angela: Thank you. I appreciate it.

[00:00:45] Michael: By the way, today is election day—did you make it to the polls?

[00:00:47] Angela: I did.

[00:00:48] Michael: That's great to hear. Last time we recorded a video, if I remember correctly, it was about Moneysuit 31 , right?

[00:00:55] Angela: Yes.

[00:00:55] Michael: We're back to discuss another game from the 31 family, and this time you're here to represent 31 Classic, correct?

[00:01:04] Angela: Correct.

[00:01:04] Michael: Can you tell me more about it.

[00:01:06] Angela: Absolutely! Just as you said, this is yet another fun twist on the game of 31, adhering to the suited card format, and the 'Classic' element brings us back to the enjoyable fundamentals while tapping into that retro appeal that's popular now.

[00:01:22] Michael: For those who might not know this game yet, could you explain the rules for us? Sunset Station [00:01:29] Angela: Of course! Like every version of 31, the goal is to build combinations of suited cards. Here, you're aiming to achieve a point total of 16 or more.

[00:01:40] Michael: [laughs] Could we use your cards as an illustration?

[00:01:45] Angela: That would be the perfect way to demonstrate! This game is straightforward and enjoyable, so using an example makes the most sense.

[00:01:51] Angela: Thank you! To recap, gentlemen, we are introducing 31 Classic, which, like other 31 variants, is centered around suited cards. In this version, you will receive three cards and a chance to draw a fourth to improve your hand.

[00:01:50] Michael: Okay, thanks Angela.

The only required bet here is the ante wager. After checking your first three cards, if you're inclined to play, you'll place a play wager that matches the ante amount.

MoneySuit 31 Classic Table Game

The first wager is known as the natural bonus, which relates to your initial three cards. You'll need a suited total of 16 or higher. I'm going to keep saying 'suited' throughout this, so consider it a fun drinking game, everyone.

We also have two optional side bets :

Next up is the optional side bet called the four card royal family bonus, which pertains to the fourth card I will place up top. It has a rainbow effect, suggesting you've drawn from four distinct suits, offering a nice safety net for players.

Beyond that, we're aiming for either a four-card flush or a total of 32 or greater. Gentlemen, feel free to place your ante wager and since it's free money, it might be wise to opt for those side bets, too.

I'm now going to deal each of you three cards and will pull the fourth card to the top. Once you have them, don't hesitate to check your bottom three cards.

As we play, remember that suited cards are key. You're looking for 16 or higher. Let's start and see what we draw. Our initial three cards look good; we have a suited total of 29. Referring to our payout table, that gives us a 15 to 1 return on our natural bonus.

Again

You are treating me to dinner later, right? [laughs] Now let’s reveal the fourth card to check if we improve our hand. In this case, the clubs don't help us match suits, so no upgrade, but that 29 still earns a 4 to 1 return on our play wager.

For the ante, the payout is 1 to 1; technically, we had to start at $5, but we're going to overlook that today, guys. Unfortunately, for our four card royal family bonus, we lack a rainbow or four card flush, which means we miss out on that opportunity—that's a mistake on the dealer's part.

Now let’s examine your first three cards. You also have a good suited hand reaching 28, which means for your natural bonus , you’ll receive a 10 to 1 payout. Looks like you can afford dessert! Now, let's check the fourth card—fantastic! You've improved to 34. Let's look at the payout table for that one.

Let"s resolve our second hand

Where do we stand? I apologize, it’s 4 to 1 on the play wager. Again, the ante remains a 1 to 1 payout. The excitement comes from our four card royal family bonus.

This is a strong hand , so gentlemen, we’ll see an impressive 30 to 1 payout. How easy was that? Thanks a lot, everyone.

[00:04:59] Michael: That wraps up our session on 31 Classic. Thanks for tuning in and a big thank you to Angela.

[00:05:03] Angela: It was a pleasure having you film with me. Until next time!
