Video Review of Logo Blackjack
Hello everyone, I'm Mike Shackelford reporting from the 2018 Cutting Edge Table Game Show held at the Paris Casino in Las Vegas. Joining me is Steve Russell, who is going to showcase his innovative blackjack side bet. What name have you chosen for it?
[00:00:38] Steve Russell : The name is logo blackjack.
[00:00:40] Michael: Logo blackjack sounds interesting. Could you elaborate on it, Steve?
[00:00:43] Steve: Logo blackjack is an adaptation based on traditional house rules for blackjack. Essentially, it functions as a side bet where players wager that whenever the screen displays a specific card value, if their two up cards or the dealer's up card match that value, they win. For instance, having one matching card earns a payout of 1 to 1, two matching cards pay out 10 to 1, three yield 100 to 1, and a potential four matching cards could result in a payout of 1,000 to 1.

If your cards don’t match those values, then it's a loss for you.
[00:01:12] Michael: What’s the reasoning behind calling it logo blackjack?
[00:01:15] Steve: We refer to it as logo blackjack because we utilize a general term due to the addition of a 14th value displayed on the screen. Apart from the standard 13 card values, we incorporate a logo representing a casino’s restaurant, golf course, or spa. When that logo shows up, everyone wins , as it indicates that the dealer's up card is the winning card for that specific hand.", 'As a result, every player will have at least a 1 to 1 win, with further possibilities for 10 to 1, 100 to 1, or even 1,000 to 1 payouts.', " [00:01:48] Michael: So, when the logo appears, the dealer's up card serves as a winning match, ensuring the dealer has at least one matching card for the hand, correct?
[00:01:59] Steve: Exactly, since the dealer's card counts as a community card.
[00:02:02] Michael: From a mathematical perspective, what can you tell me about the odds?
[00:02:06] Steve: The pay table for this game, reflecting payouts of 1 to 1, 10 to 1, 100 to 1, and 1,000 to 1, offers an 11% return, while the house edge, certified by BMM, ranges from 3% to 12%.
[00:02:17] Michael: Thank you! Are you okay with us trying out a few hands for demonstration purposes? house advantage does it have?
[00:02:23] Steve: Of course! Let's get started. Please place your bets. Before each hand, the dealer activates a button that randomly selects a card value. The screen reveals a three. There are no threes on the table , which means that in this round, both side bets lose, but we will proceed with the blackjack hand. Player one holds a total of 20, while player two has 12 and hits, bringing their total to 18. The dealer has 13 and ultimately busts.
Place your bets again. Here we go. The winning card for this hand is the logo. When the logo appears, it indicates the dealer's up card is the winner, ensuring everyone wins. The logo is expected to show up once every 14 hands, guaranteeing winners approximately every 14 rounds. In this case, the player with one nine will receive a payout of 1 to 1 on their $2 bet, earning $2. Similarly, another player will also receive a payout of 1 to 1.
Now, let’s continue with the blackjack round…

One player has 14 and unfortunately breaks. Another player opts to double down with 11—great choice! The dealer then draws a card and gets a total of 12, ultimately busting. Great move! Place your bets again. Let’s go. The winning card value is once again a logo. The dealer's up card indicates a win, resulting in a guaranteed win for everyone. This player will receive a 1 to 1 payout on their $5 bet, and another player has two winning cards for having two eights, earning them 10 to 1 on their $1 bet, totaling $10.
In this case, a player with 17 and a blackjack will receive a 3 to 2 payout at this casino. The dealer now has 12 but will draw a card, leading to a winning jack value. As expected, the dealer has a jack showing, leading to a win for everyone at the table. The player with a matching jack will see 10 to 1 on their $10 wager, bringing in $100.
However, this player still won't receive a payout as they have three jacks. That's a guaranteed 100 to 1 payout with a possibility of hitting the 1,000 to 1. They have one, two, and three winning cards and could potentially complete the set with the dealer's hole card, but we won’t reveal that until the blackjack round concludes. One player stays with 20 while another stays with 19. Now, let's see if this player is indeed a 1,000 to 1 winner.
Now, we\"ll finish the blackjack hand :
The dealer has a total of 20, but crucially, they've revealed a fourth jack, which will secure you a 1,000 to 1 payout. Let’s finalize these blackjack hands. One hand will lose, and there’s a push on the other. Thus, we have 1,000 multiplied by $4, totaling $4,000. Congratulations, you’ve just played logo blackjack! Thank you for joining us.
