In-depth Review of Realtime Gaming Software & 97 Online Casinos
On this page
Introduction
RTG software boasts impressive speed, clarity, and user-friendliness. Casinos utilizing RTG often provide generous bonuses, although a few of them may have questionable reputations. RTG supports both downloadable and Flash casinos. This evaluation is relevant for both formats, but the accompanying images are exclusively from the downloadable version unless stated otherwise.
A standout aspect of RTG casinos is that many of the games feature adjustable rules and settings which can be changed by the casino manager. For instance, video poker has customizable pay tables, while blackjack allows adjustments to the number of decks used and whether the surrender option is available. Moreover, various hidden parameters can influence the payout percentages for slot machines.
Download Vs. Flash
Generally, the selection of games available should be fairly consistent between the Flash and downloadable versions of the casinos. While there may be some slots that are not accessible in Flash form, overall, the game library appears similar. Typically, the graphics in the downloadable version are clearer and the gameplay is faster. The subsequent images provide a comparative look at both formats—click on any image for a closer view.

Baccarat
The most notable thing about RTG baccarat In the game, a tie bet pays out at 9 to 1, unlike the typical 8 to 1. Other than that, the rules are fairly standard. It's noted that six decks of cards are typically employed. Wins from a Banker bet are rounded down to the nearest quarter, so be mindful to place your bets in increments of $5. The house edge varies based on the type of bet.
- Banker: 1.06%
- Player: 1.24%
- Tie: 4.93%
For players inclined towards superstitions, there's a history board that can be accessed by clicking the 'history' button found on the left side of the screen.
Bingo
There are two variations of bingo games available: Bonus Bingo and Roaring Twenties Bingo. These games incorporate features such as multipliers, extra balls, and bonuses, though the exact rules may not be fully outlined. Therefore, you'll need to navigate through the RTG bingo games on your own for now.
Blackjack
RTG provides a variety of Blackjack games to choose from. The rules for the standard Blackjack variant typically apply to other versions like Match Play, Perfect Pairs, and Suit 'Em Up, which also include side betting options.
- Players can adjust the number of decks used, although most casinos seem to favor six decks for gameplay.
- Dealer hits soft 17
- Double on any first two cards
- Double after a split
- Players have the opportunity to split their hands twice (allowing for up to three hands total), except for Aces, which can only be split once.
- In a situation where the dealer holds a blackjack, the player will only lose their original bet.
- Late surrender is a customizable option in some casinos, typically disabled, but it may be available at some establishments like Bodog.
One of my main frustrations with RTG software is that the rules screens do not specify the number of decks used in Blackjack, and the support staff often lack this information. After extensive experience with RTG casinos over the years, I strongly suspect that most casinos opt for six decks.
I reached a point of frustration with this significant gap in the rules that I created a dedicated page to address it. test for the number of decks .
The tables below outline the basic strategy recommendations for Real Time Gaming casinos, applicable for both two decks and 4-8 decks.

European Blackjack
The rules are as follows:
- While the number of decks remains uncertain, I suspect that many casinos typically use eight decks.
- The dealer does not take a hole card. If the dealer achieves a blackjack, the player forfeits everything, including any doubled or split bets.
- Dealer stands on soft 17.
- Player may double on hard 9 to 11 only.
- Double after split allowed.
- Players can split their hands up to three times, except when splitting Aces, which can only be split once.
- No surrender.

Craps
Odds allowed: This seems to vary; I've observed settings for 2x and 3x. Both for taking and laying the odds, the maximum bet correlates to the amount wagered on pass, come, don't pass, or don't come. It would be wonderful to see an online casino recognize that when laying odds, the multiplier should correspond to the win, not the bet itself.
- Field bets: Winnings on a 12 can be set at either 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. At 2 to 1, the house edge stands at 5.56%, while at 3 to 1, it drops to 2.78%.
- Place bets: Standard rules apply here. The house edge is 6.67% for the numbers 4 and 10, 4.00% for 5 and 9, and 1.52% for 6 and 8.
- Don't place bets: For those unfamiliar, don't place bets, which can also be found in the UK and Australia, work in opposition to place bets, winning on a roll of 7 while losing on the chosen number. The following table shows the payout structure and house edge for each resolved bet.
- Buy bets: A commission fee of 5% is deducted from wins based on the bet size. For instance, a $100 buy bet on 4 results in a payout of $195 (2 to 1 minus 5% of $100). The house edge is set at 1.67% for both 4 and 10, 2.00% for 5 and 9, and 2.27% for 6 and 8. Buying bets typically have a lower house edge compared to place bets, except for the 6 and 8.
Don't Place Bets
Number Pays House Edge 4 or 10 5 to 11 3.03% 5 or 9 5 to 8 2.50% 6 or 8 4 to 5 1.82% - Lay bets: The help screens indicate a 5% commission, but it’s unclear if this is based on the bet size or the win, and whether it needs to be prepaid. Through extensive testing, I've come to think that the help screens might be incorrect, and lay bets are adjudicated as follows:
- For a point of 4 or 10: A commission of 2.5% of the win applies, resulting in a net payoff of 39 to 80. The house edge calculated here is 0.83%. It's best to place bets in increments of $20 to avoid rounding down.
- For a point of 5 or 9: A commission of 2.5% of the bet applies, resulting in effective payoff of 77 to 120. The house edge in this case is 1.50%. Here, it's advisable to place bets in increments of $30 to avoid rounding.
- For a point of 6 or 8: A 4% commission is deducted from the win, resulting in a payoff of 4 to 5 (identical to the losing place bet on 6 or 8). The house edge calculated here is 1.82%. It's wise to bet in increments of $5 to avoid rounding down.

There are two distinct bingo offerings available: Bonus Bingo and Roaring Twenties Bingo. Each presents features such as multipliers, extra balls, and bonuses. Therefore, you'll need to navigate the RTG bingo games by yourself for the time being. house way followed by the dealer.

Red Dog
The usual Red Dog Late surrender is an adjustable option. Although it's usually disabled, some casinos, like Bodog, do provide this feature.
Roulette
One aspect of RTG software that I find particularly bothersome is that the rule screens do not specify how many decks are utilized in Blackjack, and the support team rarely seems to have the correct information. After years of experience with RTG casinos, I am fairly confident that the majority operate with six decks.
- Previously, I became so frustrated by this missing detail in the rules that I created a dedicated page to address it.

Odds allowed: This appears to be adjustable. The typical settings I am aware of include 2x and 3x. For both taking and laying the odds, the maximum bet correlates with the amount wagered on the pass, come, don't pass, or don't come. Someday, I'd like to see an online casino understand that when laying odds, the multiplier should relate to the potential win rather than the amount wagered.
Field: Winning on a roll of 12 seems to be adjustable, paying 2 to 1 or 3 to 1. The house edge is 5.56% at 2 to 1 and reduces to 2.78% at 3 to 1.
