Simple over/under wagers, such as whether Draymond Green will score more or less than 7.5 points in the game between Golden State and San Antonio, featured 26-cent lines. If there was a discrepancy in the pairings, the odds shifted rapidly; for instance, one pairing was at +110/-142.
For bets with multiple potential outcomes, like predicting the total steals by Rudy Gobert in the forthcoming game between Phoenix and Utah, the average house edge was a staggering 48.3%. However, it’s typical for a sportsbook to impose a significant house edge on unconventional prop bets like this.
Point Spread Bets
Betting against the point spread has become one of the most favored ways to wager on sports. I've long been curious about the appropriate term for this type of bet but haven't received a conclusive answer yet. Parlays
Natural odds are applied instead of using a traditional table. By 'natural odds,' I mean that the potential winnings will be calculated as if the player had placed each event in the parlay individually, combining all the profits. The exception is for a three-team 'even' parlay, which they round up to six, unlike the traditional 5.96 to 1. Generally, players get shortchanged on parlay tables, with the exception of pick three options, so I appreciate this approach to natural odds.
