Sneak Peek Video Poker

Introduction

Sneak Peek is an innovative variation of video poker developed by Sigma Gaming, established in 1998. This game allows players to see the first card before the draw, but the pay table is adjusted to compensate for this advantage.

As of September 17, 2019, you can experience this game at the Cal-Nev-Ari Casino & Bar.

Rules

  1. The gameplay utilizes a standard deck of 52 cards.
  2. Players receive five random cards, with one card revealed as the first drawn card.
  3. Players have the option to discard any cards they choose.
  4. The game replaces discarded cards, beginning with the revealed card and then filling in with random cards from the remaining deck.
  5. Payouts are determined based on the player's hand after the draw, following the pay table shown below.

The pay table below indicates payouts per coin wagered, calculated using a maximum stake of five coins.

Example

Sneak Peak 1

In the example depicted above, the player is dealt a pair of threes while the peek card shown is the ace of hearts. In this scenario, the peek card does not affect the optimal strategy, and the player discards the three single cards.

sneak peak 2

During the draw, the player receives the ace of hearts along with two additional aces, resulting in a full house.

  • Peek and Play In this game, the player pays an additional two coins on top of a five-coin bet to access the Sneak Peek feature instead of a lowered pay table.
  • Look Ahead This mechanism is similar to Peek and Play, where players make a total bet of seven coins to activate the Sneak Peek, while winnings are calculated based on a five-coin wager.
