Good Times Pay
Introduction
I discovered a variant called Good Times Pay at the Suncoast casino on February 20, 2009. This is an additional feature on a classic triple-play video poker machine. By betting five coins for each hand, it functions like a normal triple-play game. If players decide to wager one to five extra coins, they activate random multipliers for their hands. From a set of 30 multipliers, three will be selected, and one will be assigned to each hand. I observed that all the games I reviewed demonstrated a consistent pattern in multiplier distribution.
Good Times Pay
Multiplier | 6 Coins Bet | 7 Coins Bet | 8 Coins Bet | 9 Coins Bet | 10 Coins Bet |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
7 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 |
5 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
4 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
3 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
2 | 4 | 7 | 7 | 10 | 10 |
1 | 25 | 21 | 19 | 16 | 15 |
Average | 1.2 | 1.4 | 1.6 | 1.8 | 2 |
The average of these multipliers reflects the actual fair cost.
