Introduction
In typical full-pay Deuces Wild video poker, when you have the option to keep either (1) two suited cards leading to a royal flush without penalty cards or (2) a completely unhelpful hand, the most advantageous choice is to retain the two high-suited cards. Yet, there are situations where discarding everything might actually be the smarter option. Consider the following hand:
In cases like this, the most logical decision is to retain the suited queen and king. However, this instance is one of the rare exceptions that warrant discarding all cards. Below is a comprehensive guide to such exceptions: they are first categorized based on the suit combinations of the first, second, and third discards. Additionally, they are sorted with respect to which high card is paired with the king. Pairs of discards that fit the criteria are shown next to the suited king.
