Florida Variant of Trips Bet
Introduction
In Florida's racetracks, poker-style games are permitted. This encompasses games such as Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em. It's important to note that Florida has a regulation stating that to win your bet in a poker game, you must defeat your opponent. Typically in Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, the Trips side bet rewards based solely on the value of the player's hand. However, at Florida racetracks, players must also outperform the dealer. This page outlines the specific rules and odds applicable at these tracks.
Rules
Normally, the Trips is a side bet in Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em This aspect pertains to poker hand values derived from the best five-card combination formed using two player hole cards along with five community cards. Nonetheless, at racetracks in Florida, it remains mandatory to surpass the dealer's hand. In case of a tie involving hands with Three of a Kind or better, the Trips bet results in a push.
Tribal casinos across Florida do not adhere to the 'must win' stipulation, and as a result, they apply the standard Trips payout structure.
The table below illustrates both the standard Trips payout chart and the variant utilized in Florida. Notably, certain payouts have been enhanced to reflect the increased challenge of securing a win.
