Sharp Shooter

Introduction

Sharp Shooter is an engaging dice game developed by 1x2, a provider of gaming software for online casinos. The goal for players is to roll each number shown in the dealer's roll using the fewest number of throws possible.

Rules

  1. The game starts with the player placing a wager.
  2. Next, the dealer rolls three dice, which will be known as the Target Dice.
  3. The player shall then roll three dice.
  4. Players will examine their rolls to see if any numbers match those on the Target Dice. Each die from the player's roll can eliminate one specific die from the dealer's roll. For instance, if the Target Dice show 3-6-6 and the player rolls 1-2-6, it means one of the sixes gets eliminated.
  5. Players continue to roll until they either eliminate all Target Dice or reach three rolls, whichever comes first.
  6. When a player successfully eliminates all the Target Dice, they receive a payout based on the number of rolls taken and the corresponding pay table shown below.

1 8 to 1
2 7 to 5
3 1 to 2

Example

Here’s an example of how the game plays out. Feel free to click any image for a larger display.

In the example provided above, the dealer rolled a 1-1-4, which are designated as the Target Dice.

During the player's initial roll, they get a 3-4-6. While the 3 and 6 are of no use, the 4 successfully eliminates the 4 from the Target Dice. After this roll, the remaining Target Dice are 1-1.

The second roll from the player is a 3-3-3, which doesn’t assist in winning. The player needs at least two ones in the next roll to secure a victory. The chances of achieving that are 7.41%.

In the player’s third roll, they roll a 1-1-2! This successfully eliminates both ones from the Target Dice, resulting in a win for the player. Since the win happened on the third roll, the $100 wager pays 1 to 2, totaling $50.

Comparison to Six Shooter

1x2 Gaming also offers a similarly themed game called Six Shooter . The differences are:

  • In Six Shooter, the dealer rolls six dice rather than just three.
  • During Six Shooter, if the player rolls a number, all instances of that number will be eliminated from the Target Dice, unlike the one-to-one elimination rule in Sharp Shooter.
  • The pay table is different.

The house edge for Six Shooter is slightly higher, at 5.88%, making Sharp Shooter the preferred option if you have to choose between the two.
