Pai Gow Tiles - Expert Techniques for Splitting
Introduction
The strategies for splitting specific pairs are based on the visible tiles from other players’ hands or those visible outside of the dealer's hand.
This analysis assumes that the dealer is acting as the banker. If you happen to be the banker, other players are less likely to wager against you, and you will have limited visibility of their tiles.
The pair-splitting combinations outlined here are additional to the typical pairs you would normally split with. For general pair-splitting guidelines, refer to the optimal pai gow tiles strategy .
It's important to understand that the effect of these strategic revisions on the house edge is minimal; this information is primarily shared for educational purposes.
The following tile codes are used:
- H0 = a high 10 tile

- H8 = a high 8 tile
- L8 = a low 8 tile
- 0 = a high 10 or low 10 tile
- 1 = an 11 tile
- 2 = a Teen or Day tile
- 3 represents a Gee Joon tile, regardless of whether it has 6 pips or is used as a 6-point tile.

- 6 = a high 6 or low 6 tile (not a Gee Joon tile)
