Texas Station House Way
Introduction
The house rules for the Texas station are aligned with those of the Four Queens .
- No pair: Position the top card in the high hand and the next two strongest cards in the low hand.
- One pair: Use the paired cards in the high hand and the two highest remaining cards for the low hand.
- Two pair:
- Ace and any other pair - always split.
- Always split when having a pair of face cards or pairs of 6s and above.
- Any two pair 6\"s or under - never split
- For any other two pairs, split unless one of the pairs is an ace; play the ace in the two-card hand in that case.
- Three pair: Always include the highest pair in the low hand.
- Three of a kind:
- Typically, three of a kind should go to the high hand, except when dealing with three aces, where they should be split.
- If you have two sets of three of a kind, designate the lower set as the high hand and split the higher set.
- Straight:
- Keep as the high hand.
- For a 6-card straight, the highest card will be selected for the low hand.
- When having a 5 or 6-card straight inclusive of a pair, the pair should constitute the low hand.
- Straight with 2 pair - play the 2 pair rule.
- Flush:
- Keep as the high hand.
- In the case of a 6-card flush, the highest card should also be played in the low hand.
- With a 5 or 6-card flush that includes a pair, make the pair the low hand.
- Flush with 2 pair - play the 2 pair rule.
- Straight and Flush: If you hold a flush and a straight without a pair, choose the best combination to generate the highest two-card hand.
- Full house : Generally, split unless you have a pair of 2s with an ace or king, which can be played in the low hand.
- Four of a kind: Play based on the rank of the four of a kind:
- 2 through 6: Always keep together.
- From 7 to 10: Split unless you can play a pair or an ace along with face cards in the low hand.
- From Jack to King: Split unless your hand also includes a pair of 10s or above.
- For Aces: Split unless you can play a pair of 7s or better in the low hand.
- Straight Flush:
- Keep as the high hand.
- Split two pairs of 10s or higher, or when you have a pair of aces with any other pair.
- For any other two pairs including an ace, play the two pairs as high and the ace in the low hand.
- Choose to play a straight or a flush instead of a straight flush if it results in a face card or higher in the low hand.
- Royal Flush:
- Keep as the high hand.
- When you have a royal flush along with a pair, make the pair the low hand.
- In the scenario of a royal flush with two pairs, follow the two-pair rule.
- If you have a royal flush but can play an ace, king, or a pair in the low hand, split it while keeping a straight or flush in the high hand.
- Five aces: Split unless you can play a pair of kings in the low hand.
