Oasis Poker (Belgium Rules)

Introduction

Oasis Poker is a variation of Caribbean Stud Poker The gameplay of Oasis Poker resembles that of Caribbean Stud, with one key difference: players have the option to exchange their cards at a cost. The variant discussed here, which I refer to as the 'Belgian Variant,' does not allow players to fold after opting to swap cards. For a more traditional version that permits folding after a card switch, please refer to my main page. Oasis Poker .

Rules

  1. Players are required to place an ante bet along with a potential additional side bet.
  2. Both the player and the dealer receive five cards each, all facedown, except for one card of the dealer's that is shown. Players can check their cards but cannot share what they have with others.
  3. Players can opt to replace one of their cards with a new card from the deck, but there’s a cost to do so which is equivalent to the initial ante. This fee is non-refundable.
  4. Players may switch multiple cards if they wish. The cost for switching one card is equal to the ante, two cards will double the ante, three cards cost triple the ante, four cards cost double the ante, and switching all five cards is just one ante.
  5. If the player hasn't swapped any cards, they have the choice to either fold or raise. Under the rules applicable here in Belgium, players are required to raise if they decide to switch cards; they cannot fold.
  6. If a player chooses to fold, they will lose their cards along with their ante bet and any side bets placed.
  7. Should the player choose to raise, they must place a wager that is exactly double the amount of their ante.
  8. The dealer will reveal the other four cards they were dealt.
  9. To qualify, the dealer must hold at least a pair of aces and kings. Therefore, the lowest qualifying hand consists of ace, king, and three other lower cards.
  10. If the dealer does not have a qualifying hand, the player will win an amount equal to their ante bet, while the raise will simply remain unchanged.
  11. If the dealer qualifies and manages to beat the player, both the ante and raise bets will be lost.
  12. When the dealer qualifies but loses to the player, the ante bet will pay out even money, and the raise will be according to the payouts outlined in the Raise Pay Table below. Other payout structures might be available elsewhere.
  13. In the event of a tie between the player and the dealer, both the ante and the raise will result in no gain or loss.
  14. The outcome of the bonus bet is determined entirely by the original hand value of the player.

Strategy

Currently, I haven't developed a strategy for the Belgian rules. However, I do outline a strategy when players can fold after switching on my main page. Generally, if it’s not advisable to switch cards there, it’s best to avoid it under the Belgian rules as well. I would recommend that players never exchange more than one card. Oasis Poker The following return table is derived from the payout structure mentioned earlier. Different payout structures may lead to alterations in the odds.

After considering potential switches and raises, the average final wager, taking the switching fee into account, tends to be 2.34.

This results in a ratio of 1.95% over 2.34, equating to an edge of 0.87%. Statistically, players are expected to switch cards about 7.03% of the time. units. The element of risk I detail the odds associated with the side bet in my section. Certain casinos have been known to base their side bets on the hand after a card has been switched, which can be quite favorable for the player. However, if this situation arises, you will need to make your own decisions.

Side Bet

I have received an unverified report from a reader regarding a potential rule in Belgium that prohibits players from switching just one card. The analysis above is not founded on this supposed correction.
