To utilize the calculator, simply select a game from the dropdown list. This selection will automatically fill in the fields for hands per hour, house edge, and standard deviation. Feel free to modify these values if you believe they are inaccurate. You'll need to input your bet amount and the duration of play manually.
Once all entries appear correct, click the calculate button, and the tool will provide you with the following:
- Total standard deviation = This represents the expected variability in outcomes. If this concept seems confusing, you may disregard this field.
- Winning Probability: The likelihood of achieving a profit during the session
- x% chance to win this amount or less (negative indicates a loss): There is an x% likelihood that you will achieve this amount or less. If the figure is negative, it signifies a loss.
Assumptions
- The house edge for blackjack is calculated assuming the use of six decks, with the dealer hitting on a soft 17, payouts for blackjack set at 3 to 2, allowing for doubles after splits, re-splitting aces, and the option to surrender, with the dealer checking for blackjack.
- For roulette, the standard deviation is based on players making even-money bets only.
- In craps, it is assumed that players only place pass line bets along with full 3-4-5x odds.
- All house edge calculations operate under the assumption of optimal strategy utilization, with the notable exception being blackjack, which is based on basic strategy principles.
- In the case of Ultimate Texas Hold 'em, the average bet is considered to be solely the Ante bet, rather than the combined total of Ante and Blind bets.
- The house edge for baccarat is derived from a 50% wager split between Player and Banker bets, with no tie or side bets included.
