Double Action Roulette

Introduction

My introduction to Double Action Roulette took place at the Global Gaming Expo in 2012. At that time, I learned that it had just been launched at the M Casino located in Las Vegas.

The unique aspect of this game is that two sets of numbers rotate separately, with a ball settling in a space between them. This mechanism allows for two possible winning outcomes. Players have the option to wager on the result of either the outer ring, the inner ring, or place a combined bet covering both.

Rules

As mentioned previously, the game features two distinct rings: an outer one and an inner one. According to promotional materials from TCS John Huxley, the game is offered in both single-zero and double-zero formats.

In terms of betting layout, rather than the classic 3 by 12 configuration typically found in regular roulette, Double Action Roulette utilizes a 6 by 6 grid. Nonetheless, the wager types and odds mostly retain their usual characteristics for single bets. The subsequent details outline the specific betting options available:

Single Ring Bets

Bets can be placed on either the inner or outer rings, as detailed below.

  • Single number. Pays 35 to 1.
  • Two numbers. Pays 17 to 1.
  • Four numbers. Pays 8 to 1.
  • Six numbers. Pays 5 to 1.
  • 12 numbers. Pays 2 to 1.
  • You can bet on eight specific numbers (0, 00, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), which is exclusive to the double-zero variant. The payout for this bet is 3 to 1.
  • Alternatively, one can bet on seven numbers (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), which is only available in the single-zero variant, with a payout of 4 to 1.

Double Ring Bets

The next category of bets involves parlays, where a win must occur on both rings.

  • Single number. Pays 1200 to 1.
  • Two red, black, odd, even, 1 to 18, 19 to 36. Pays 3 to 1.
  • First, second, or third dozen. Pays 8 to 1.
  • Betting on eight numbers (0, 00, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), exclusive to the double-zero format, allows for a payout of 18 to 1.
  • For seven numbers (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), again, this option is limited to the single-zero format and pays out at 25 to 1.
