Dogs 3D

Introduction

Dogs 3D is an interactive dog racing simulation developed by InBet Gaming. The premise of the game is straightforward: six dogs compete in a race. Players can place various bets such as win, place, show, and exacta. Here’s a brief explanation of these betting types:

  • Win — Selected dog finishes first
  • Place — The chosen dog finishes either first or second
  • Show — The chosen dog secures a place in the top three, finishing first, second, or third
  • Exacta — The specified two dogs must finish in the top two spots, in the exact order selected

Once the betting period ends, the race takes place and then the bets are settled.

Rules

  1. Six dogs shall compete per race.
  2. For each race, the odds for win, place, show, and exacta bets are varied and posted.
  3. After betting concludes, the virtual race is held.
  4. Bets are determined based on the outcome of the race.

Analysis

Assuming a player places all possible bets in proportion to the odds, aiming for a guaranteed 'win' no matter the race outcome, here are the potential returns:

  • Win, place and show bets: 92.2%.
  • Exacta bets: 90.7%.

Video

The video below features a standard race.

Tron Race

InBet has a variant of Dogs 3D known as Tron Race, which is themed around a six-car digital racing competition inspired by the film. The average return for win, place, and show bets is consistently 92.2%. For exacta bets, I see a slightly improved return of 92.3%, which is marginally better than Dogs 3D. This increase might be influenced by the win cap of 100 for exacta bets.

Velodrome

InBet also presents a remarkably similar game based on an eight-rider bicycle race, called Velodrome. After performing the calculations, I find a return of 92.0% on win, place, and show bets and an 80.0% return on exacta bets, also capped at a win of 100 for the bet of 1.
