Diamond Roulette
Introduction
Diamond Roulette is a unique variation of the traditional game that was introduced in Atlantic City in November 2008. Unlike standard roulette, this version features numbers 1 to 36 categorized into six colors: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, and black, with six numbers assigned to each color. A wager placed on a specific color pays out at a rate of 5 to 1, resulting in a house advantage of 5.26% for double-zero roulette and a more favorable 2.78% for single-zero roulette.
In double-zero roulette, there are six betting options involving a specific color combined with the two zeroes on the wheel. These bets provide a payout of 3 to 1, but this comes with a house edge of 15.79%. Conversely, in single-zero roulette, these same bets pay out at 4 to 1, leading to a lower house edge of 5.41%.
All standard bets typically offered in roulette can still be placed, except for the classic red and black even-money wagers.
The variant available in Atlantic City utilizes a double-zero wheel. In line with the traditional rules of double-zero roulette in this area, even money bets are only partially lost if the ball lands on either of the zeroes.
