Majestic Match

Introduction

I first encountered the baccarat side bet known as Majestic Match while using a gaming machine at the Venetian on April 15, 2021. This bet has a similar mathematical structure to what I refer to as version 1 of the blackjack side wager. Royal Match In baccarat, there are two Majestic Match side bets available: one on the Player's hand and the other on the Banker's. A win occurs when the first two cards are of the same suit, with a higher payout if they are a suited king and queen.

Rules

When the initial two cards of the chosen bet—either Player or Banker—are a suited king and queen, the Majestic Match payout is an impressive 25 to 1. If they are simply two cards of the same suit, the payout is 2.5 to 1. However, if the two cards are of differing suits, the bet loses.

Analysis

The table below presents my findings on the Majestic Match using eight decks. The last cell in the table indicates a house edge of 6.46%.
