Welcome to Wizard of Odds 5.0
Welcome to Wizard of Odds 5.0, a massive project that has been in development for around a year and a half. We've worked hard to maintain the original aesthetic while completely overhauling the underlying framework of the website. Although there are still some finer details to address, the majority of the revamped site is functioning smoothly.
Now that this major project is completed, I can focus more on introducing new game demos and applications to the site, along with other exciting features that are in the works. If you encounter any issues with the new website, we would appreciate it if you could fill out the contact form .
You might be curious about what happened with versions 1.0 to 4.0 if this is labeled as version 5.0. My gambling website began its journey in 1997 under the name 'Mike's Gambling Page'. Here’s a brief history to entertain you.
Version 1
After I completed my actuarial exams in 1995, I found myself with a significant amount of free time. I utilized some of this time to create a website focused on mathematical problems, which still exists at this URL: mathproblems.info Many of these problems were related to gaming. In time, I decided to separate all gambling-related content into a distinct page named Mike's Gambling Page.
Version 2
About two years later, I enrolled in a two-day workshop on web design. The instructor emphasized the importance of a clear and concise homepage, which inspired me to completely redesign it. You can view an archived version at WayBack Machine .
Version 3
In the year 2000, I partnered with a marketing firm based in Montreal, and as part of their services, they completely transformed the site. While they gave it a fresh appearance, it came with an overwhelming amount of advertisements. Check out a snapshot of that version here cached version from the WayBack Machine.
Version 4
Approximately three years later, I decided to part ways with my first partners. Additionally, I transitioned the website from theinternetradiomercedes.com to internetradiomercedes.com. In 2003, I brought on board Michael Bluejay to take over as the webmaster for the site. By 2004, he also assumed responsibility for advertising sales, enhancing numerous features and simplifying repetitive tasks. Here is how the site appeared back then March 8, 2010 .
Michael has his own website dedicated to Las Vegas and gambling, which can be found at VegasClick .
Version 5
In 2010, Michael Bluejay departed from the project and 'JB' assumed the role of webmaster. Although the overall design remained consistent, JB focused on converting the site to PHP and updating the entire backend system.
On December 6, 2011, we launched the revamped site on a new server, officially transitioning to version 5.0.
